Many of us form habits through out our lives. What we dont understand is that often chronic illnesses while very physical can also be a form of a coping skill. I have a friend who has anxiety and panic disorder. Many believe it is a disorder. And she suffered it for many years and had attacks many times a day, until she found herself constantly reaching for the meds. I challenged her to tap every time she felt the panic come in For one month she tapped every time the panic crept in. And for one month she did not have a single panic or anxiety attack. Maybe its time to look at some of our pains and disorders and see how much of it is just a coping skill habit, that while unpleasant seems to serve us in some way or other.
